Kent—home to scenic hiking trails and charming shops—is soon to host a rather legendary presence. The town’s own Morrison Gallery is gearing up to reveal an exhibition of more than 19 artworks by the great Salvador Dalí, due to open on November 18.

This month, modern and contemporary art space Morrison Gallery will unveil an exhibition of sculptures and works on paper by the master of surrealism, Salvador Dalí.

A curated selection of sculpted bronze editions from The Dalí Universe—a dedicated, touring exhibition of Dalí’s artworks, techniques, and methodology, with one of the largest collections of his sculptures and 3D objects in the world—will be on view in the gallery, alongside graphics illustrating literary themes.
“This exhibition will showcase some of Dalí’s significant artworks, obsessions, and sources of inspiration, which are rich in symbolism and recurring images,” says William Morrison, owner of Morrison Gallery. “An important theme in his work is sensuality and femininity and our guests will be able to appreciate close up some of his artworks dedicated to the female figure, such as the Space Venus, Alice in Wonderland, and The Surrealist Piano.”

Morrison opened his sprawling, naturally lit 7,000-square-foot exhibition space in 1999, and it has since become a local cultural institution. The gallery exhibits the work of modern masters and promising contemporaries alike, showcasing an expansive breadth of styles and media.

Salvador Dalí will go on view at Morrison Gallery, 25 North Main Street, Kent, CT 06757 from November 18, 2017 through February 11, 2018. An opening reception will take place on November 18 from 5pm to 7pm.
